About Me

Giovanna "Joanne" Mandel is Amici Photography.

I love photographing fabulous people in everyday settings.
I may have been a psychologist in another life because I love to watch the interactions between people and their reactions to those around them.
I love photographing couples about to be married and watching as they continue to learn new things about each other....there is so much more to come!!
I love capturing video snippets on a wedding day and showing it to the bride and groom a few months later.
I love the squealing sound a senior girl makes when she sees her final images for the first time.
I love the relationship between seniors and their moms as they are getting ready to "leave the nest".
I love when moms try to get their young children to behave during a photo shoot...and then they realize that the best images come when the kids are being themselves.
I love when a mom realizes that it's me who is egging the kids on:)
I love the human connection that I feel when I document any part of a family's life....kids, families, seniors, weddings....these are all such personal moments and I feel honored to be a part of them.

I am fortunate that I have a family that supports me in any way possible and my dream of being a photographer is fulfilled with their support.

I love Italy...I love visiting Italy....I would love to live in Italy....part of the year:)

If you are looking for formal photography...this isn't it. If you are looking to document your family as they really are....this is it.
