Jordan & Bradley :: Vermont Wedding
|

Vermont Wedding PhotographerSitting in the Burlington, Vermont airport waiting for my plane home....I wish my laptop had the capacity for the hundreds of images there are of this wedding. And if I only had the energy to blog about it!! It was such a great weekend and we all know that Jordan & Bradley will have a lifetime of fun and adventure. More to come tomorrow...enjoy these for now:) |

Location, location, location.....
|

Vermont Wedding PhotographerThis morning I spent an hour or so with Jordan and Bradley going through the timeline of their wedding day. We visited each of the sites for the wedding tomorrow and talked as we walked. Jordan and Brad met through mutual friends over ten years ago. As Brad puts it, "one thing led to another on a fateful night and boom"...the rest is history. Although that portion of Brad's story seemed simple......the dating and engagement was anything but. When they finally did get together, and knew that they were meant to be, it was Jordan's education that took them across the Atlantic to England and to their engagement site. While studying in England, Brad and Jordan knew they would marry. An English artisian who created Jordan's father's wedding bans would ultimately create Jordan's engagement ring. And on a cliff at Tintagel, overlooking the Celtic Sea, Brad asked Jordan to be his wife. I asked Jordan when she knew the location of her wedding.....her answer.....before he asked me:)
This is the view from Jordan's aunt's home....the setting for tomorrow's nuptials. |

| On our way to the actual location we stopped at this yurt on their property. This is the cutest hut/cabin I have ever seen......this is also the place that Brad sat with Jordan's father when he asked for her hand in marriage:) |

| Dr. Suess came to mind when I saw this!! |

| The starting point for the wedding day tomorrow....still on her aunt's property....a natural amphitheater for saying the "i do"s...... |

| The light spot in the middle where the sun is shining will be their spot! |

| The tent in yesterday's post of the Lakeview Inn is the second stop for the dinner portion of the reception. And just down a beautiful daylily path is Jordan's childhood home. A beautiful wooden barn is attached to the home and will be the last stop on the wedding tour for toasting and dancing. |

| This hydrangea bush was planted when Jordan was born. I wonder if her parents knew that one day that plant/child would bloom to be so beautiful:) |

| The downstairs of the barn...waiting to be decorated.... |

| My upstairs vantage point for a few "sweet" images..... |

| It rained a bit here today...I think the flowers just wanted one last sprinkling before Jordan and Brad's big day!!! Now I'm off to the rehearsal and dinner to follow. |

A Wedding in Vermont.....Yes!
|

Vermont Wedding PhotographerJordan and Bradley have traversed the world together.....living in England and here in the States. Together they have seen some amazing sights that this world has to offer. When it came time to plan their wedding, it was back to Jordan's hometown in Greensboro, VT. Getting to Greensboro from Indianapolis is somewhat of an adventure...flying to Newark (why was that such a small plane?)...and then from Newark to Burlington (a VERY small plane). I believe the Burlington Airport may just be the smallest airport I have ever been in, but most certainly the most welcoming. From the time I left the jetway, to arriving in Greensboro, people couldn't have been nicer. Perhaps it has something to do with the Ben & Jerry's ice cream (I passed the factory when I got off the highway!). Whatever it is, keep doing it:) And finally a little over an hour drive through the mountains.
Jordan's hometown is a dot on the map, but the most stunning "dot" in New England. The town sits on Caspian Lake and is very quaint. I took a few pictures before I finally found the bride and groom and I am excited to explore it a bit more tomorrow morning before the festivities begin tomorrow evening.
The Lakeview Inn is my home away from home and it is PERFECT. The tent for Jordan and Bradley's wedding dinner is already on the back lawn of the inn. The Inn conveniently sits next to a daylily farm/gardens that Jordan's mother and step-dad own. And just beyond the daylily farm/gardens is Jordan's father and step-mothers home and barn. All the properties interconnected and flowing from one to the other as if waiting for this magical weekend.
I had to stop when I saw this covered bridge.... |

| The view from Jordan's aunt's backyard. |

| The Lakeview Inn on Breezy Way....truly! |

| My room. There are 9 guests rooms and they are all occupied by wedding guests. There is wi-fi, coffee in the morning and a key to your room if you really need one! |

| When I saw the dining room, all I could think of was "The Newhart Show". I haven't seen Daryll or Daryll yet!! |

| The gardens/daylily gardens in the back of the inn. |

| That's the tent in the background.....and the front porch of the Lakeview. I just might rock later:) On Saturday, their wedding day, the forecast is sunny and high of 70°. More images to come....tomorrow I plan to visit Willey's General Store. Voted the best general store in the United States by The New York Times. Their slogan, "If we don't have it, you don't need it!" |

Haley + Matt:: Laugh until it hurts :)
|

I think I lost a couple of pounds yesterday....from the heat and humidity and the belly laughs!! Haley and Matt are destined for a lifetime of fun. Both the Bourke and the Mulligan families know how to party and take ANYTHING and EVERYTHING in stride. If you live in the mid-west you know that we are experiencing insane heat and humidity with temperatures soaring above 100°. That might put a damper (no humidity pun intended) on a wedding day. Haley and Matt took it all in stride and enjoyed every possible second of their day. They chose the Hawthorns Country Club in Fishers for their wedding and reception. But the fun didn't start there.....everyone was in on the act.
Haley's mom started off the day telling her that she had forgotten the bride's shoes at home....NOT! |

| As she dressed in the very "cool" ladies locker room (my locker room in high school did not look like this), Haley took it all in...I'd love to show you how her bridesmaids adjusted her dress, but this is a family blog:) |

| The couple chose to see one another before the wedding so that we could get all formals out of the way so as not to interrupt their party plans....fabulous idea! |

| Did I mention that it was so friggin' hot!!! |

| When I suggested a few shots inside the lobby, there was a mad dash for the door:) |

| It was so hot outside everyone had a towel to wipe off the sweat in between shots....and you know....kids will be kids!!! |

| The toasts were very sweet and filled with memories. But the reactions to the toasts were wonderful....lots of smiles and laughter. And the laughter and dancing went all night long. |

| Haley and her dad had quite a bit of fun with their Father/Daughter dance. |

| And then the dancing began....and went all night long. Poor Matt......it was a hot one! |

| The momma's enjoying a dance together. |

| One of my favorite images of the night.......LOW!!! |

| Haley and her girlfriends from grade school/high school practicing their passing technique...what else do basketball players do??? |

| First I thought it was Michael Jackson, but we know that wasn't possible....then I thought USHER???? He's giving me the signal...all these photos won't be free:) |

| Alrighty Melissa...here it is!!! Your dance partner looks concerned:) |

| Matt and Haley...I know you had an unbelievable day. Congratulations!! |

|

Tradtitional...in a whole new way:)
|

Zionsville Wedding PhotographySandra met Ryan online. That is the non-traditional aspect of their relationship. The rest of their relationship and wedding would be considered by today's standards: old-fashioned....ultra-traditional....bygone....remote. What I found was a couple who follow the teachings of their church, embraced them, and in the process became living examples for many younger members of St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church.
Sandra and Ryan found one another a year and a half ago on CatholicSingles.com. After just three dates Ryan knew that Sandra had been sent to him. He found himself on bended knee and the two have never looked back. So under glorious blue skies yesterday, Ryan and Sandra were joined in the Sacrament of Marriage. |

Ryan looked most dapper in his tux...while Sandra made an elegant bride.
|

| The Catholic Mass is filled with many traditions and wonderful rituals. Even though it was a traditional Mass there were parts that some did not expect. Sandra is the music director at St. Alphonsus Ligouri and not only did she sing the Ave Maria....she also sang a beautiful rendition of "The Servant Song" a cappella to her new husband. |

Meet Jeff and Mary Beth.... who became surrogate parents to Sandra and Ryan as they prepared for marriage. With the bride and groom's families all over the United States, these were the folks who sustained them as they prepared for their new lives....they housed them, counseled them and guided them toward their new married life. Jeff and Mary Beth will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in just a few days. A shining example for the new couple to emulate:)
|

And if Jeff and Mary Beth didn't offer enough of themselves...they also hosted the reception at their gorgeous home. The entire event was lovely and I would imagine that Sandra and Ryan enjoyed every moment of their day.
|

And it would seem so......
|

A group hug....you can see the admiration and love that Sandra and Ryan feel for their adopted family.
|

Finally...a dad and daughter dance and the scrumptious cakes from Classic Cakes in Carmel. Ryan and Sandra...congratulations on your new life together.
|

| And the momma and the aunts who had all traveled so far....:) |
